NARLabs and Keysight Sign a Memorandum of Understanding to Develop 5G Communication Technologies

National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs) and Keysight Technologies announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to establish a strategic partnership for the research and development of 5G communication technologies. Both parties are committed to working together on 5G-enabling technologies and prototype verifications and evaluations, with the goal of enhancing the future of Taiwan's wireless communication innovations.

The partnership between the National Chip Implementation Center (CIC) of NARLabs and Keysight started with mmWave front-end circuit design technology. This collaboration will lead to the launch of the next generation of experimental high-speed broadband mmWave wireless communications networks.

The system will include a Keysight PSG Vector Signal Generator, a 12 GSa/S Arbitrary Waveform Generator, and an Infiniium Oscilloscope. Keysight's SystemVue 5G baseband Verification Library will accompany these world-class hardware solutions. This advanced software library dramatically increases productivity for system architects and baseband physical layer (PHY) designers by providing trusted algorithmic referencing and signal processing capabilities for 5G technology research.

With the collaboration on 5G communication–link technology, CIC and Keysight will pioneer future research and the development of mmWave communication systems, from which a new infrastructure for fifth-generation mobile networks will lead to advancements in services that will include wearable devices and an Internet of Things.
