The I-35W Bridge over the Mississippi in Minneapolis collapsed during rush hour on August 1, 2007, plunging dozens of cars and their occupants into the river. FORMOSAT-2 from NSPO acquired the real-time image of the bridge collapse. The image showed 350-meters-long collapsed bridge which has broken apart into several segments. NSPO has provided the image for prompt rescue through Spot Image. It shows excellent emergency response of FORMOSAT-2.
