Position Announcement:President of National Applied Research Laboratories (NARL), Taiwan
A. Background of National Applied Research Laboratories:
Established in June 2003, National Applied Research Laboratories (NARL, URL: http://www.narl.org.tw ) has affiliated eleven national laboratories branched from National Science Council (NSC) into an independent non-profit institute. The research centers of NARL include: National Nano Device Laboratories (NDL), National Laboratory Animal Center (NLAC), National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering (NCREE), National Space Organization (NSPO), National Center for High-performance Computing (NCHC), National Chip Implementation Center (CIC), Instrument Technology Research Center (ITRC), Science & Technology Policy Research and Information Center (STPI), National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR), Taiwan Ocean Research Institute (TORI), and Taiwan Typhoon and Flood Research Institute Preparatory Office (TTFRI). The missions of NARL are to establish R & D platform, support academic researches, promote frontier technologies, and foster high-tech manpower for the Taiwan academic community.
B. Duties and responsibilities of the president of NARL:The President of NARL is in charge of providing leadership and overseeing all program and administrative aspects of the organization. The President assumes the responsibility to the Board of Directors on the management and operations of NARL.
C. Qualifications:
1. Holds citizenship of the Republic of China, if the applicant possesses foreign citizenship, he/she must complete renouncing process before assuming this position
2. Under age 65
3. Full-time commitment to the position
