In order to set more students experience in solving high performance computing scientific problems, the NCHC of NARL hosted the “2006 NCHC Cup – High Performance Computing Hands-On Competition: The Search for the π Expert”. All students used parallel computing to enjoy the fun of calculating the value of π in the competition. The event took place during 11/8-11/30. The final results came out on 12/13 and the first place winner was a student from the National Taiwan University (NTU). The prize was a NT 50,000 scholarship.
