The Training Symposium on Typhoon and Flood Disaster Reduction was cosponsored by the National Science Council, Democratic Pacific Union, NARL, NCDR, and NCREE, was held during May 8-10, 2006. There are 19 trainees participated in this training program, who were from 10 countries including Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Panama. This training program is part of Taiwan's contribution to international community, and seeks to promote the international tech collaboration with developing countries. Meanwhile, this program would pROVide a communication platform and strengthen the disaster reduction development in order to reduce the risk and damage of natural disaster.
