Glossy Honor - NARL Innovative Inventions win 2 golden medals on 2006 IENA

NARL is very proud to announce that the two inventions of Instrument Technology Research Center (ITRC), one of the research centers of NARL, have both been awarded gold medals at IENA 2006 (International Trade Fair «Ideas-Inventions -New Products») held during November 2nd-5th in Nüberg, Germany. These two teamwork inventions are entitled “Flat luminous visual inspection device” and “An illuminated close-up photograph apparatus”.The first invention is applied to the inspection of backlight unit (BLU) in the display industry, which is a key component of flat- panel device (FPD). With this technology, inspection of a four-inch BLU on luminosity, chromaticity and uniformity can be easily achieved in three seconds. This invention has already developed to be an in-line inspection machine in the fabrication sites. The second invention combined a simple concept by just arranging a pre-designed lens set and luminous light source in front of the lens of a commercial digital still camera (DSC), it makes portable microscopic photography more convenient. Up to 150 times of magnification of microscopic photography and digital video recording is possible at the present moment. This technology has been transferred to a Taiwan corporation for succeeding implement and marketing.ITRC is a research center that aims to establish and develop specific technology and manufacturing capabilities for precision instruments. The research topics are related to remote-sensing instrument development, nano- and micro-technology, vacuum technology, and instrumentation implement. Based on traditional principles of "Precision, Innovation, Dedication and Cooperation", ITRC strives to integrate instrument resources and strengthen its technological services in the future.
