Clonezilla in top 50 best Linux apps 2011

The Clonezilla software developed by the NARL's National Center for High-Performance Computing (NCHC) has been voted by the readers of Linux Format, a British magazine, in September as one of the 50 best Linux applications. In addition, Clonezilla was ranked as one of the best backup software of 2011 by PC Magazine.

This free and open-source software comes as either a live CD or a server application for disk imaging and cloning. With Clonezilla, users can create an exact clone of almost any hard drive or partition. 

Based on DRBL, partclone and UDPcast, Clonezilla boasts high-performance cloning, which simplifies deployment and support for a multitude of system types, e.g., Windows, Linux and VMware. Moreover, it can assist users easily and quickly setting up large-batch, centralized computer management systems that are stable, fast, and cost-saving. 

Clonezilla has not only been employed in the R&D and management in the HPC environment, but also utilized in educational institutions.
