The Taiwan Ocean Research Institute held a founding ceremony on September 10, 2008. The Minister of National Science Council Lon-Chuang Lee and President of NARL Dr. Jer-Nan Juang were present, to speak and host the ceremony. Scholars from ocean science field are invited, and a press conference and reception followed.
