The Taiwan Ocean Research Institute held an outdoor exhibit of ocean research vessels and exploration instruments at pier 13 in Kaohsiung City on July 24, 2008. The Director of the Ocean Bureau of Kaohsiung City and the Dean of the College of Marine Sciences of NSYSU were invited to speak at the inauguration. The displays included four research vessels and various precision instruments. The narrators are available to help visitors understand ocean science and technology. The exhibit activity attracts many parents with their children and also teenage students. The whole activity lasted until 7 o’clock and ended successfully in the evening.
