NCHC has successfully developed Diskless Remote Boot in Linux (DRBL) and Clonezilla Open Source software, both known for their stability, speed, and cost saving. They can be used not only in high performance computing research and management, but also education community. In an educational environment such as a computer laboratory, they can be used to lower hardware and software costs, reduce manpower and save time. DRBL/Clonezilla software has exposed the spirit of Open Source software through campus. Since 2003, there have been over 40,000 downloads of this software. More than 400 institutions and individuals in Taiwan, and more than 20 other countries have used DRBL/Clonezilla software. DRBL/Clonzilla software has greatly promoted Taiwan's reputation on creativity of Open Source software and showed a positive image of Taiwan.
