NOAA/NCEP announced to use the FORMOSAT-3 radio occultation data for its global weather forecast operation system on May 1, 2007 followed by the successful data implementation on the operation systems of many weather forecast centers in Denmark, Spain, Great Britain, and ECMWF. NOAA and many space institutes in Asia such as KARI in Korea, ISRO in India and TÜBİTAK in Turkey have also showed their strong intention to cooperate with NSPO for FORMOSAT-3 mission. In addition, NCU just observed the ozone vertex effect above the Antarctica through FORMOSAT-3, which would be helpful for the observation studies of the global warming issue.
